Test Overview : Vancomycin is the drug of choice for serious infections caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and coagulase-negative staphylococci (including S. epidermidis). Peak concentrations are measured to ensure adequate dosage and dosing interval.
Test Preparation Instructions : Collect 1-2 hr following I.M. or 15 min following a 60 min I.V. (or 30 min following a 30 min I.V.)
