The following three options are available by appointment at our COVID-19 traveler testing locations. Before booking your appointment, please confirm which tests are required by the country or countries you are visiting.

COVID-19 PCR Testing - $136 (tax included)

Results available within 48-72 hours.*
A physician’s requisition is NOT required. Dynacare will provide a requisition at the time of collection.

The COVID-19 PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test is a molecular test that identifies an active infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus at the time of testing. The test looks for viral RNA in a sample of secretions collected using a nose and throat swab. If the virus is detected, the test is positive, which means that the person tested currently has COVID-19.

Information to Travelers Requiring Proof of a Negative PCR Test: Dynacare utilizes three different molecular tests to detect COVID-19 virus in clinical samples. Two of the tests are PCR-based (Roche cobas SARS-CoV-2 and Thermo Fisher TaqPath COVID-19 Combo), and the third (Hologic Aptima SARS-CoV-2) uses a different method (TMA) that is analogous to PCR. All three tests can be used interchangeably to determine the presence or absence of COVID-19 virus in a sample.

COVID-19 Serology Test - $79 (tax included)

Results available within a turnaround time of 6 days.*
This test requires a physician’s requisition. Requisitions are available through your family physician, the public health network, or through private providers.
Serology testing can be done up to a week before departure. It is available without an appointment at all Dynacare locations in Quebec.
This test is to be used for natural exposure only, and not to be used for post-vaccine antibody testing.

The COVID-19 Serology test is a blood test that identifies a previous infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. This test detects the presence of COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) antibodies in your blood, which result from a COVID-19 infection in the past. For greatest accuracy, it uses a 2-step, double confirmation process when a previous infection is detected.

Symptoms of COVID-19 can include fever, new or worsening chronic cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, sore throat, difficulty swallowing, decrease or loss of sense of taste or smell, chills, headache, unexplained fatigue/malaise/muscle aches, nausea/vomiting/diarrhea/abdominal pain, pink eye, or runny nose/nasal congestion without other known cause. If you think you may have an infection, call your local Public Health Unit to be referred to the right resource.

How to Book your Traveller COVID-19 PCR or Serology Test

1. Book Your Appointment

2. Prepare for Your Test

For a Serology test, obtain a requisition signed by your doctor.
For a PCR test, you do NOT need a requisition.
For each test: download, print, and sign your patient consent form. Please be sure that you have read your email confirmation carefully for preparation instructions. Failure to prepare for your collection may require our staff to turn you away at the time of collection.

3. Provide Sample(s)

Visit the location where you have booked your appointment for sample collection. If you are a Quebec resident, bring your identification and RAMQ card.

To reduce contact, digital payment is preferred.

4. Get Your Results

We understand the importance of timely and accurate Traveller testing results and offer two ways to access your test results digitally.
