Collection Requirements: Identify patient's name and date of birth on bottle. After obtaining sample, rinse broom device immediately in vial solution. Push broom device into bottom of vial forcefully 10 times and swirl vigorously. Discard broom device. If using the spatula and endocervical brush devices, obtain adequate sample from the ectocervix. Select contoured end of spatula and rotate 360° in clockwise direction. Swirl spatula vigorously 10 times in vial. Rinse in same vial solution and discard spatula. Using endocervical brush, rotating ¼ turn. Rinse cytobrush immediately in same vial as spatula device by rotating the device in the solution 10 times while pushing it against the vial wall. DO NOT LEAVE ANY DEVICE IN VIAL. Close lid and tighten securely.
