Change to High Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (hsCRP) Test

Effective March 15th, 2021, Dynacare will be changing the methodology used for measuring High Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein (hsCRP) in serum.

Both the old and new methods are Roche Diagnostics immunoturbidimetric methods. Compared to the current method, the new method has the same analytical sensitivity but has extended linearity and is more robust to interference. There is good agreement between the methods for patient results less than 5.5mg/L and there is no impact to the reference intervals. Results in the range from 5.5 to 20mg/L will be 18% higher, on average, with the new method.
