Customer Experience Index

After each visit to a Laboratory and Health Services Centre, we ask customers to consider voluntarily completing an online survey to provide feedback on their interaction with Dynacare staff, the clarity of the information they received, and the amount of time they waited for service.

The percentage of positive responses makes up the Customer Experience Index. We are proud to report that in 2024, 91.3 per cent of our patients reported a positive experience with our teams.

Net Promoter Score

The Net Promotor Score (NPS) is used by millions of businesses to measure customer experience. It typically takes the form of a survey asking respondents to rate the likelihood that they would recommend a company, product, or a service to a friend or colleague.

The score is on a scale from minus 100 to plus 100; according to Bain & Company, creators of the NPS metric, any score above 50 is considered excellent.

In 2024, Dynacare’s Net Promoter Score was 71.45 – well in excess of the Bain & Company threshold for ‘excellent’.

Dynacare expands network to serve more Canadians

Dynacare opened three new Laboratory and Health Services Centres (LHSCs) and seven new Co-op locations in 2024, bringing convenient access to our trusted laboratory testing services to communities.

Through our expanded network of Dynacare LHSCs and Co-ops, we offer highly skilled, knowledgeable staff who welcome our customers with empathy and professionalism.

Excellence in Customer Care

Improved Customer Service: New testing equipment in British Columbia offers expanded testing menu and faster results

Dynacare B.C. installed new testing equipment to service our B.C. communities, allowing us to perform laboratory testing locally and offer additional tests including Lipoprotein(a), which can determine the risk of heart attack and stroke, hepatitis, sex hormone binding globulin, and bioavailable testosterone.

Faster Results with Less Environmental Impact: Customers in Western Canada receive results two days faster while Dynacare reduces our environmental footprint by 52,000 sample bags

Service improvements in our Edmonton, Alberta, laboratory were front and centre as we installed two new analyzers that reduced test turnaround time for oral fluid confirmations by a minimum of two days.

Previously, these samples were shipped to our London, Ontario, laboratory for testing. Since the installation of the new equipment, our Edmonton lab has decreased the use of sample bags and boxes for the approximately 52,000 samples per year and eliminated the need for packaging materials for transport and for corresponding daily courier fuel consumption from Edmonton to London.

Better Access to Healthcare Services: Increase in testing capacity for Ontario residents

Our London, Ontario, laboratory relocated its clinical toxicology testing to a secured, restricted-access area and realigned its chemistry lab to accommodate a projected 10 per cent increase in testing. This will provide Ontario communities with faster, more reliable test results that enable healthcare providers to begin or update their patient treatment plans in less time.

ISO 17025 Accreditation: Dynacare London Laboratory

Our Forensic Toxicology laboratory in London, Ontario, received accreditation of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). This accreditation, complemented with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) certification, ensures rigorous forensic toxicology standards have been met to guarantee the highest level of quality and accuracy in sample processing with stringent quality control measures and defensible results. Ensuring this level of accuracy is a vital step in the success of Ontario’s health and safety program.

New Equipment, Better Service: Doubling laboratory testing capacity

In Quebec, our laboratory installed a Cobas Pro automated chemistry testing analyzer that significantly enhanced our ability to serve local communities. The new equipment nearly doubled the lab’s testing, capacity, enabling the team to perform more tests in less time. This upgrade also resulted in reduced turnaround time to deliver results, allowing healthcare providers to make more timely decisions for their patients’ care.

Improved Technology: Better customer service and better environmental stewardship

Dynacare was selected as one of the laboratories of choice by Ontario Health for its new eOrder initiative. Beginning its pilot phase in 2024, the program allows physicians to send digital lab orders from their system directly to the province’s system. Participating Dynacare Laboratory and Health Services Centres can then access the order to perform the collections for the individual. This process provides better service delivery while minimizing delays by reducing email traffic and paper requisitions that have to be manually entered.
