Dynacare partners with Breakfast Club of Canada to help children reach their full potential
Dynacare has selected Breakfast Club of Canada as its 2017-2018 Lead Charity, supporting the Club with a $25,000 donation. The donation will help Breakfast Club of Canada nourish children’s potential by providing children across Canada with a nutritious morning meal before school, in an environment that allows their self-esteem to grow and flourish.
Each September, Dynacare employees choose a Canadian charity to support through its Lead Charity program, which aims to positively impact lives by promoting health and wellness and building stronger communities.
“Supporting healthy lives with commitment and care is at the heart of everything we do,” says Naseem Somani, President and CEO, Dynacare. “We are thrilled to partner with the Breakfast Club of Canada to provide children with nutritious food and help them reach their full potential.”
One in five Canadian children are at risk of starting the school day on an empty stomach due to household food insecurity. For First Nation, Metis and Inuit communities, and among immigrants and newcomers, the risk is often double. This means nearly one million Canadian children are at risk of having missing breakfast before they go to school each morning.
“The support from Dynacare will make a big impact for children across Canada,” says Josée Desjardins, Vice President, Ontario and Western Canada, Breakfast Club of Canada. “Good food is linked to good health and eating breakfast is proven to provide lasting physical, mental and educational benefits for children.”
In addition to the donation, Dynacare employees will support Breakfast Club of Canada throughout the year through various special events and awareness initiatives. Since its inception in 2012, the Dynacare Lead Charity program has donated more than $160,000 to Canadian charities including Pancreatic Cancer Canada, The Lung Association, Lymphoma Canada and The Canadian Mental Health Association.
The Dynacare corporate giving program includes both its Lead Charity
and Community Outreach
