Supporting communities through compassion – Fall 2018 Dynacare Community Outreach Program recipients

Community is all about coming together.

To learn from each other. To understand each other. And, most importantly, to support each other.

As an organization that lives its values, supporting communities through compassion is an important aspect of what Dynacare does. That's why the Community Outreach Program was created to promote health and wellness, as well as build stronger communities in Canada and abroad. Through the program, Dynacare provides monetary support to charitable organizations or services in the areas where our employees live and work.

This season, Dynacare has selected four amazing charities to support. Here is a brief overview of the important work being done by each of the chosen charities.

Four Phenomenal Charities

The Alzheimer Society of Peel supports individuals in Peel Region living with Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias. Our donation of $2,500 will support their Memories to Music program, an initiative that pairs high school students with clients living with dementia. After interviewing the clients and learning their personal histories, the students compose original music about them and present their work at the annual Memories to Music Concert, thus celebrating the clients’ lives, preserving their past and connecting them to the community as a whole.

After Breast Cancer supports individuals affected by breast cancer by promoting survivorship research, providing helpful resources and offering direct support to breast cancer graduates (the charity’s preferred, positive term for survivors). Our donation of $2,500 will support ABC Recovery Kits, a program that provides economically disadvantaged, uninsured breast cancer graduates with free breast prosthesis kits to help support both physical and mental health during the recovery process.

Fondation Marie-Ève-Saulnier is a charity located in St-Hubert, Que. that focuses on improving the quality of life of children diagnosed with cancer. Our donation of $2,500 will support Bien-être aux familles, a program that provides financial assistance and support to these families during their children’s treatment period.

Located in London, Ont., the Regional HIV/AIDS Connection is dedicated to positively impacting the lives of individuals and diverse communities living with, at risk for, or affected by HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C. Our donation of $2,500 will support the Skowronksi Fund – which covers the costs of basic amenities while clients are in hospital – as well as assist clients transitioning to independent housing from the John Gordon Home – a safe space for individuals affected by HIV and Hepatitis C.

Dynacare is very proud to support these four outstanding charities and the important work they do to promote health, wellness and a strong sense of community.

Because a community that comes together can accomplish just about anything.
