Hematology and Coagulation Reference Interval Changes

On or about June 15, 2015, Dynacare laboratories will be changing the instrumentation used for hematology and coagulation testing.
The current and new testing platforms have some inherent differences in methodologies and assay calibrations.  While the reference ranges will not change for INR, Fibrinogen and Free Protein S, the following reference ranges will be changed:
  • Activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT)
  • Cross-linked fibrin degradation products (D-Dimer)
  • Anti-thrombin III (AT III)
  • Protein C
