Many laboratory immunoassay tests use biotin technology. Elevated levels of biotin (also known as vitamin B7, vitamin H, and coenzyme R), in blood or other samples obtained from patients who are ingesting high levels of biotin can cause clinically significant errors in some immunoassay test results.
